Students from Physical Education Department Visit The Riyadh International Book Fair

Physical Education department organized a visit to Riyadh International Book Fair 2017 for a group of the best students and members of faculty.  RIB is arranged by Ministry of Culture and Information on Thursday 17 Jumada II 1438 AH, being held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz . Students took a tour of fair. They have visited the pavilion of KSU, KSYC, Rushd Bookstore and others. They also have a look on the direction maps of the publishing houses and the authors and how they can reach any book in any field. 

" This Visit is an opportunity to update one's knowledge of different scientific and literary fields" said  Dr. Tariq bin Ali Al-Salihi. Department chairman. He also confirmed that this fair is one of the most important book fairs in Middle East and the world for the variety of publishing houses. " This visit aims to encourage students for reading and buying books, improve their research skills and have an idea about the best specialized publishing houses which will develop their scientific skills to achieve their personal and professional goals" he added. .

Higher Education Program for Deaf and Hard-Of-Hearing Students

Physical Education department in Sport Sciences and Physical Education organized a course on " The Basic Sign Language in Physical Education Skills" in collaboration with  Higher Education Program for Deaf and Hard-Of-Hearing Students. The course was attended by a large number of students from the seventh level besides field training students and members of faculty. They were trained on the sign language and how to use it in physical education classes. Dr.Tariq bin Ali Al-Salihi. Department chairman praised the course for training the departments' students on language signs before their engagement in the public education which is aligned with Ministry Education goal to open more inclusion schools. It should be mentioned that this course is the second course delivered by Higher Education Program for Deaf and Hard-Of-Hearing Students for students of physical education

On Monday 4/7/1437 a sport and educational meeting for Students and Staff of AlNor Institute for Blind was held by Physical Education department. It took place at the college of Sport Sciences and Physical Activity. The meeting was held under the supervision of Dr.Tariq bin Ali Al-Salihi the associate professor of Adapted Physical Education and the chairman of physical Education department. It was attended by faculty and a large number of students who have participated in the meeting organization. This meeting is a part of the department continuous efforts to develop skills and fitness level of students with special needs by providing them with exercise appropriate for their level of disability.

At the beginning of the meeting, Department chairman welcomed all participants then one of the blind student  recited some verses of the Noble Quran. The meeting was then followed by educational and sports activities for the blind people; Goalball and Paralympic football were one of the most important sports from the team sports.
