Department of Exercise Physiology has been founded as one of the departments of the College of Sport Sciences and Physical Activity, which was established to implement the decision of the Higher Education Council at its fifteenth council meeting, held on 15.07.1429 H. to restructuring College of Physical Education and Sport and the Department of Physical Education and Movement Sciences at College of Education to become one college under the name of “College of Sport Sciences and Physical Activity”. The department of Exercise Physiology supervises Physical Fitness pathway as well as offers a Master of Science in Kinesiology and the program will start in 1435-1436 H. The department includes a group of specialists of faculty members in addition to a range of scholarships in different countries in the field of Exercise Physiology. The department also includes a set of laboratories equipped with the latest equipments and instruments at high standard level in order to approach the excellence level in the quality of scientific research and studies in the field of Exercise Physiology. These laboratories will provide a scientific environment for the faculty staff to participate in the construction of scientific knowledge and professional experience through the use of techniques and methods of scientific research. According to the requirements and needs of the labor market for qualified PhD degree holders in Exercise Physiology, the department is looking forward to establish a PhD program in the future. Therefore, the department of Exercise physiology has set its vision, mission and objectives in order to conform and achieve the vision, mission and objectives of the Sport Sciences and Physical Activity College, which was built on the basis of King Saud University strategic plan 2030.

Department of Exercise Physiology seeks to achieve its vision and mission by through a set of goals. Thus, the main objectives of the department will be summarized as follows:
1-Encouraging work environment for creative and development in the field of exercise physiology, and ensure equal opportunities for all faculty members and employees of the Department.
2-Preparing qualified specialists on a high level of efficiency and professionalism in various areas of health and fitness area.
3-Contributing to the preparation of the College of Sport Sciences and Physical Activity’s students academically and professionally in order to prepare them for the labor market as professional specialists.
4-Supporting and encouraging outstanding scientific research in the field of exercise physiology to support knowledge-building and community service locally and internationally.
5-Achieving assuring and accreditation requirements as an outstanding department in the field of exercise physiology.

The department of Biomechanics and Motor Behavior was established on basis of Council of Higher Education resolution in its 15th session which was held on 15/7/1429H. To achieve the university's vision, the department aspires to be a scientific and educational destination and a distinguished source of sport sciences and physical education theories and applications regionally and internationally. It also seeks to contribute in a qualitative and distinctive way to meet the community needs. In addition, the department aims to prepare specialists in sport sciences and physical activities fields in accordance with targeted quality standards to address the demand of various community sectors.
